2020 Virtual Met Gala- Julia Roberts

Leave it to the queen of the 90’s to make a dress in a bathroom look chic. While the 2020 Met Gala has been postponed indefinitely, Julia Roberts shared a flawless-looking Instagram pic showing off her “almost” Met Gala gown while casually perched atop a bubble filled tub (talk about an aesthetic). But it wasn’t the sophisticated black and white tiered dress that turned heads, it was her tousled blonde hair and fresh-faced, natural makeup look that truly stole the show.

Edgy and chic was the name of the game for Saoirse Ronan’s 2019 Met Gala look. The award-winning actress sported a fiery form-fitting sequin gown that looked like something straight out of Game of Thrones novel. Her fierce dress was brilliantly complemented by a delicate, grunge makeup look, which butter LONDON easily recreated with the products below.

Get the Look: After applying LumiMatte Blurring Finishing and Setting Powder to the entire face, pull focus to the eyes using the Teddy Girl Eyeshadow Palette. Using a dense eyeshadow brush, outline the entire eye with the warm brown eyeshadow in Beatrice, creating a winged eyeliner effect all the way up to the outer brow bone. 2018 Met Gala Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and Catholic Imagination- Blake Lively

Blake Lively has become such a staple at the Met Gala, she’s even started blending in with the event’s carpet. The bombshell actress has sported some of the most memorable looks over her years of attending the star-studded exhibit, but it’s her 2018 saint-inspired gown that is sure to go down in history. butter LONDON was so inspired by the ruby red and gold embellished gown, that we created a dazzling nail polish look centered around it’s brilliant colour palette.

Get the Nail Look: : Lay the base and ensure long-lasting covering using our protective Horse-Power Basecoat. 2017 Met Gala Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between- Rihanna

butter LONDON found more manicure inspiration in Rihanna’s 2017 show-stopping gown. While the floral wonder was something of a fashion masterpiece, we were instantly captivated by the dress’es beautiful colour scheme. The  gown’s delicate blue, nude, pink and mauve colours were practically begging to become trendy manicure inspiration, so we transformed them into one of the season’s hottest nail polish looks: the multi-colored french tip.

Get the Look: Gather butter LONDON Patent Shine 10x Nail Lacquer in 5 colours: a story blue in London Fog , a mauve polish in Toff, a soft grey in Ta-Ta,  a raspberry polish in Broody and a nude in Mum’s the Word. Choose one nail polish colour to apply to the top half of each nail, alternating light and dark colours on each finger for contrast. Next, gently dip a cotton swab in nail polish remover and carefully sweep it along the bottom of each nail polish strip to create a precise, curved line.
