DIY This Season’s Most Fabulous Manicure with the New First Fall Frost Collection!
September 05, 2024 | News
4th of July is just around the corner, and what better way to get ready than with a red, white and blue manicure! Having a festive mani is a fun way to celebrate the holiday, and this week in the blog we are sharing how to recreate some of our favourite 4th of July nail ideas.
Shoot for the Stars
For the first festive manicure, we are going to start by painting each finger on your right hand with Piece of Cake Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquer and your left hand using Waterloo Blue Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquer. Once the nail lacquer has dried, use the Stippling Brush from our Signature Nail Art Tools 3-Piece Nail Design Brushes and Smashing! Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquer to draw a star on each nail on your right hand. To draw a star, draw one triangle on the center of your nail. Let dry. Next, draw an upside-down triangle on top of the triangle you have already drawn. Let dry. Once your triangles are drawn, fill in the gaps and clean up the shape of your star with the same Smashing! colour. Add a topcoat with our Hardwear Shine UV Topcoat, let dry, and voila! You have a festive mani!
Classic Red, White, and Blue
Another go-to manicure for the 4th of July is classic red, white and blue nails! This look can be achieved with Her Majesty’s Red Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquer for a true red crème, Cotton Buds Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquer for a classic white crème, and Waterloo Blue Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquer for a soft cornflower blue. To recreate this manicure, paint your nails alternately for a red, white, and blue effect before adding a topcoat of Hardwear Shine UV Topcoat to help lock in your mani with a high-shine finish.
*Pro Tip: Add a top coat of Sassy Lassie Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquer to give your nails an iridescent chrome shimmering finish!
A Festive French Manicure
The last manicure we love for the 4th of July is a classic French tip with red, white and blue! This manicure will use the colours Her Majesty’s Red Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquer, Cotton Buds Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquer, Waterloo Blue Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquer, and a Sheer Wisdom Nail Tinted Moisturizer in the shade closest to your skin tone. For this manicure, start with one to two coats of Sheer Wisdom on each nail. Next, begin your French manicure by alternating between Her Majesty’s Red, Cotton Buds, and Waterloo Blue and applying the colour on just the tips of your nails. If needed, use the Clean Up Brush from the Signature Nail Art Tools 3-Piece Nail Design Brushes to help clean anything that may have gotten outside the lines. Finish this red, white and blue manicure off with a coat of Hardwear Shine UV Topcoat for a salon-worthy finish.
