- Take It All the Way Back with a 1930’s Moon Manicure
The film is technically set in 1929, but we hear the costuming is looking forward to the 1930’s. What were all those Depression-era cuties doing with their nails? Behold the Moon Manicure!
Edith or Mary would likely wear this look with best-selling Piece of Cake or Empire Red—red nails and pink nails were the on-trend manicure looks of the decade—but we’re seeing this look on Insta with funky shades of all stripes! Try it with the “moons” bare (with a coat of Horse Power Nail Rescue Base Coat) or get fancy with a Waterloo Blue, English Lavender, or Mink Gray.
To create this manicure look, first paint on base coat and wait for it to dry. Use a long striping brush to mark out the middle area you want to paint, then fill in with your fave new Downton-inspired nail lacquer shade.
