Pretty in Pink: The Manicure Everyone's Obsessed With!
by Branwen Raven
on May 28 2025
Step into spring with the chicest pink nail trend.
Dahlings, the season of pink is gloriously upon us — and we're not talking about just any old rosy hue that's had its day! The Pink on Pink trend is taking over fingertips everywhere, and butter LONDON is leading the charge with our perfectly curated collection of pinks that pack a proper punch.
From the softest whisper to the boldest blush, this trend is the ultimate spring statement that somehow manages to be both fresh-faced and timeless all at once. It's giving feminine power with a cheeky wink, and we're absolutely besotted.
Think of it as your nails' way of saying "I woke up like this" while secretly knowing you've mastered the art of effortless elegance. The beauty? It's astonishingly simple to achieve, even for those who consider themselves novices in the nail art department.
Your Pink Sparkle Moment
Ready to embrace your pink potential? Here's our foolproof formula for Pink on Pink perfection:
Begin with a coat of Sandy Bum — that gloriously understated nude-pink that flatters every skin tone while whispering "I'm naturally this fabulous." It's the perfect foundation for what comes next.
Then, the magic happens. Layer on Sweetiekins for that flawless sparkle of pink perfection. The delicate shimmer catches the light in ways that will have you staring at your own hands all day (we won't judge — we do it too).
For those feeling particularly adventurous, why not experiment with our entire pink portfolio? Flusher Blusher delivers that punchy pop of vibrance, while English Lavender brings a hint of purple-pink sophistication. Royal Blush? Well, that's pure regal elegance, darling.
Finish with our legendary Hardwear Shine UV Topcoat — choose glossy for that wet-look shine or Hardwear Matte UV Topcoat for a more contemporary edge. Either way, you'll be sporting the ultimate soft pink glow that lasts and lasts.
And there you have it — the Pink on Pink manicure that's as easy as it is chic! No professional needed, though you'll certainly look like you've just stepped out of London's poshest nail salon.
Pink's Power Play
This isn't just us being chuffed about our favorite spring shade — beauty editors and nail enthusiasts across the board are positively obsessed with this pretty-in-pink moment. As recently spotted in ELLE (oh yes, we're name-dropping), this soft pink trend is being hailed as spring's most versatile look.
What makes Pink on Pink truly brilliant is its chameleon-like ability to adapt to your personal style. Fancy something delicate and translucent for daytime meetings? A single coat of Sandy Bum will do the trick. Heading for evening cocktails and need something with more attitude? Layer up Flusher Blusher for a bold statement that says you're not to be trifled with.
The beauty world has spoken: Pink on Pink isn't just a fleeting trend — it's the new neutral with an edge. It's confident yet soft, bold yet approachable. Rather like you, wouldn't you say?
So go on then, give your tips the pink treatment they so richly deserve. Whether you're a pink enthusiast or a color-shy first-timer, this trend welcomes you with open arms (and perfectly polished fingertips).
After all, life's too short for boring nails. And in the immortal words we live by at butter LONDON: when in doubt, pink it out! Shop Pink on Pink Perfection.

Celebrate National DIY Day with a Proper British Mani: The "Cakes and Cuppas" Collection
by Branwen Raven
on Apr 02 2025
Dahlings, it's National DIY Day, and what better way to celebrate butter LONDON's 20th Anniversary than with a spot of home nail artistry? As I sit here with my afternoon Earl Grey, I simply must tell you about the most delightful nail kit from butter LONDON—the Cakes & cuppas 6-piece nail lacquer set.
This charming 6-piece kit has utterly stolen my heart with its quintessentially British themed shades. The collection is perfectly on-brand with butter LONDON's cheeky, sophisticated vibe that we've all come to adore since they burst onto the scene in 2005 as the first toxin-free nail lacquer brand.
A Proper British Colour Palette
The "Cakes and Cuppas" collection features six absolutely scrumptious shades:
Steady On! - A sophisticated neutral that pairs with everything, rather like a good cuppa
Sandy Bum - A delicate milky pink
Fruit Machine - A bubblegum pink
Bubbly Rosé - A perfectly rose-gold hue that's as bubbly as rosé
Flusher Blusher - A brilliant fuchsia that's bold as brass
London Fog - A stormy blue-grey crème
The Feel Good Beauty Experience
What makes butter LONDON truly special is their commitment to clean beauty without compromising on colour, quality or performance. These 10-Free nail lacquers are formulated without Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, DBP, Toluene, Camphor, Ethyl Tosylamide, Xylene, Parabens, Gluten and TPHP.
It's rather brilliant knowing that while I'm achieving a posh and polished look, I'm not subjecting my nails to a load of nasties. The Patent Shine 10X formula gives a proper gel-like finish that lasts up to 10 days—rather essential for those of us who can't be bothered with daily touch-ups.
My DIY Mani How-To
For National DIY Day, I've created a delightfully British afternoon tea-inspired manicure using the "Cakes and Cuppas" collection. Here's how you can recreate it at home:
Begin with clean, prepped nails—perhaps with butter LONDON's Melt Away Cuticle Exfoliator to tidy those bothersome bits.
Apply a base coat—their Horse Power Nail Rescue works a treat.
For a classic look, paint each nail with two coats of Fruit Machine, allowing proper drying time between coats (the perfect excuse for another cuppa).
On accent nails (I chose ring fingers), apply Sandy Bum as a base, then use a small dotting tool to create a "jam" center with Flusher Blusher or pebbles with London Fog.
For the truly adventurous, try a gradient effect by starting with Steady On! at the cuticle and adding Bubbly Rosé tips.
Seal your masterpiece with their Hardwear Shine UV Top Coat for that smashing glossy finish.
A Spot of British Flair
What I adore about butter LONDON, and why I’m still their mascot, is how they've maintained their British heritage throughout these last 20 years. Their witty, cheeky approach to beauty feels like chatting with your most fashionable London friend—the one who always knows the best spots in Notting Hill and has perfected the art of afternoon tea.
Final Thoughts
So, my loves, whether you're a proper nail enthusiast or a DIY novice, National DIY Day is the perfect excuse to treat yourself to some "me time" with a luxurious at-home manicure. The "Cakes and Cuppas" collection delivers the balance of posh and playful you’ve been seeking.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to finish my manicure and perhaps indulge in an actual cuppa (or two).
Cheers,
Branwen
